Internal Linking Strategy for SEO
By Kavin P · · 1 min read

A clear internal linking strategy for SEO helps search engines discover pages and helps visitors move toward the action you want.
Why it matters
Internal links pass attention between your own pages, show how topics relate and keep readers on your site longer.
Build topic clusters
Choose a main topic, such as "email marketing". Create one in-depth main page, then several supporting posts on narrower questions. Link the supporting posts to the main page, and the main page back to them.
Use descriptive anchor text
Write "email list segmentation guide", not "click here". The words tell readers and search engines what to expect.
Link from strong pages
Find pages that already get visits and add links from them to newer or more important pages.
Practical steps
- List your key money pages: services, case studies, contact.
- Find related blog posts for each.
- Add two or three natural links per post.
- Check for orphan pages that nothing links to.
- Fix broken internal links.
Do not overdo it
Add links only where they help. Too many links in one paragraph feel spammy.
