- Is robots.txt blocking important pages by mistake?
- Is there an XML sitemap submitted in Google Search Console?
- Do key pages show as indexed?
- Are duplicate pages using canonical tags?
Site structure
- Can any page be reached within a few clicks?
- Are URLs short and readable?
- Do important pages have internal links pointing to them?
Speed and mobile
- Do pages load quickly on a mobile connection?
- Are images compressed and sized correctly?
- Is the layout usable on small screens without zooming?
Errors
- Fix broken links and 404 pages.
- Redirect old URLs to the most relevant new page.
- Avoid long redirect chains.
Security and markup
- Use HTTPS on every page.
- Add structured data where it is accurate, such as articles and breadcrumbs.
Prioritise
